INTRODUCTION
Over thirty years ago, I mentioned to a girlfriend that
I felt a life-changing milestone was about to develop. I
could not shake the feeling. The event began on the day
I found a house in the community that suited my growing
family. I made a deposit on the house and signed a contract
to sell my home. On a Sunday morning, two days
after I signed the contract, a man knocked on my door.
He asked if he could see my house without contacting my
realtor. I showed him around, and that following Monday
he bought my house.
The real-estate man was pleasantly shocked. He
offered to take my husband, David, and I to supper to celebrate
the sale of the old and the new houses. As it turns
out, the realtor’s wife was taking an introductory astrology
course. She asked me if I cared to join her class. This
class led me to study astrology with Thomas Seers.
A year or so later my friend, Joan, gave me a deck
of Tarot cards. It was then I realized how astrology,
numerology, and regular playing cards all reveal the complexities
of the human experience. From there on in, I
blended my spiritual, psychic, and intuitive insights to
help others discover their full potential.
The myths and legends of the Tarot have created a
common tongue for all people. Scholar’s claim the origin
of the Tarot cards came from the Egyptians. Beginning as
Doris Ann’s Tarot Handbook
far back as the twelfth century, Gypsies extended the
Tarot throughout Europe.
The resemblance of the Tarot to regular playing cards
is remarkably striking. Both decks feature the court cards
and there is a Fool in the Tarot and a Joker in a regular
playing deck. They carry hidden information to help the
reader bring forth inner changes. The events can be
about love, extreme challenges, pinpointing a conflict in a
crisis, or indicate where a spiritual gap resides in one’s
life.
Some may say that reading the cards is dangerous.
They are shrouded in darkness and have supernatural or
magical powers. The cards have no power whatsoever. It
is the reader and the observer that initiate the power of
the cards. The cards are tools to help readers share a
Prophecy of the already, which produces a vision and
enables everyone to launch their lives toward new possibilities.
This book blends many forms of divination. It
includes numerology, astrology, and empathic and intuitive
awareness. The YES/NO spread will help the novice
reader quickly weave together the past, present, and
future. The traditional Celtic Cross, Astrological, and the
new Numerical Identification-Grid Spreads will give the
Seeker another direction to translate his or her predictive
awe-inspiring story into a modern way of living.

CHANGING THE WAY YOU THINK
Have you purchased a Tarot book to help you to interpret
the Tarot and wondered why the definitions did not
make sense? After reading a Tarot book, did you feel as
though you were placed in a maze of wordy explanations
and felt empty with the results? This handbook is based
on the ancient aspects of astrology, numerology, and
metaphysical philosophy. I have simplified the descriptions
and the definitions of both the Tarot and regular
decks to minimize confusion or speculation about the
meaning of the cards. This will help the Seeker comprehend
the intimate messages connected to his or her reading.
TAROT AND REGULAR PLAYING DECKS
The Tarot deck contains 78 cards composed of life’s
archetypes. The 22 Higher Arcana Cards are numbered
from I to XXI plus a 0 signifying The Fool. The 56 Minor
Arcana cards contain four suits that are similar to the
modern regular playing deck. The Tarot suits include the
court cards, King, Queen, Knight, and Page. A regular
playing deck includes the King, Queen, Jack, and
excludes the Knight. 1
The four suit components:
The Wands and Clubs are on a spiritual plane:
They suggest the way to spiritual awakening;
The Cups and Hearts are on a psychological plane:
They suggest the way to personal fulfillment;
The Swords and Spades are on a philosophical plane:
They suggest the way to break mental barriers and give the
Seeker specific guidance toward clear thinking.
The Pentacles and Diamonds are on the physical plane:
They suggest the way to material and intellectual success.
SUMMARY OF THE NUMBERS
The suit numbers in themselves have ten base characteristics.
The Queen and King have the characteristics
of the master numbers 11 and 22. They illustrate where a
reader may find his or her center.
Ace New Beginnings
2 Feelings, Finances
3 Communications
4 Home, Building Upon Past Knowledge
5 Flexibility, Compromise
6 Faith in the Unknown, Relationships
7 Self-Refection, Divine Potential
8 Rebirth, Surprise Circumstances

9 Endings and Beginnings,

11, Queen Organizations, Universal Salvation
22, King Dedication, Aspiration
Before you purchase a Tarot deck, look at the pictures
in the deck. To interpret the cards fully, you must
feel a kinship with the cards. When you arrive home,
keep the cards in their case and wrap them in a silk scarf
or a favorite cloth. Place them in a personal drawer for at
least two hours. Do not place them in a crowded drawer
with mixed objects. The extra effort will help to keep the
cards intact. But most importantly, you are showing a
respect for the cards and the guidance they will give you.
When you purchase regular playing cards, find a
design on the back of the deck that gives you a meditative
feeling. For example, if you enjoy the countryside,
pick a country scene. If you meditate, a water scene or
even evening stars would work. Those of you who find
solace with animals, could pick an animal scene or any
scene that you feel a strong attraction to. Do not use your
regular playing cards for anything other than this exercise.
Also, wrap the cards with a silk scarf or a favorite
cloth. As with the Tarot deck, they should be kept isolated.
To master the definitions of the cards, you may want
to type the meaning of the cards in your computer, print
them, cut out the messages, and tape them on the front
of each card. I found this effort helped me memorize and
summarize the definitions quicker.
MAKING A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CARDS
The pictures and the numbers carry hidden information
to help the Seeker understand his or her collective
unconscious and evoke transformation. They show the
Seeker where the area of hope resides, how to achieve a
goal, and reveal the opening to an esoteric phenomenon
that brings one toward a peaceful victory. 3

EXTREME NUMBERS
The extreme numbers are in both the Tarot and regular
playing decks. They alert the Seeker to specific hidden
impulses that need immediate attention.
REFLECTIVE NUMBERS, CHOICE AND CHALLENGE
Any number with a zero is called a reflective number.
The zero (a round circle) lies dormant and does not have
a concrete position until it can express itself with a partner
number. The zero symbolizes rebirth though choice
and challenge. In the case of The Fool or The Joker, the
cards surrounding them in a spread become a partner
number. If a card happens to be weak (negative), the
Seeker will have to fight against his or her cynicism. If the
card is strong (positive), the Seeker can make unusual
strides toward his or her goals, but not without a challenge. 5

REFLECTIVE NUMBERS
A zero waits in an expectant state of participation.
Alone it represents unformed potential.
Higher Arcana, The Fool 0
Regular Deck, The Joker 0
Higher Arcana, The Wheel of Fortune X (10)
Minor Arcana, The Number 10
Regular Deck, The Number 10
Higher Arcana, Judgment XX (20)
The reflective-number associated with the zero (0)
and the partner number (the card or cards surrounding
the zero) shows where a Seeker needs direction. The key
words for a reflective-zero is humanity, humility, and
expansion.
THE LIGHT AND DARK SIDE OF THE NUMBER 10
The number 10 has a dual vibration and discretion
with this number is advised. It is a reflective number
(choice) and if an individual’s choices are not taken seriously,
the 10 becomes a pensive number (conflict). There
is not another number that divides itself with such a dramatic
conclusion. Its poignant vibration reflects the beginning
of realization and balance. The number 10 predicates
that the Seeker is about to take a journey to an
unfamiliar place. Make a special mental note of the
insights of the 10’s potential and hindrances.
On the light side of the number 10, the Seeker has an
open energy source. People find themselves drawn to the
Seeker’s sense of humor.
He or she has the capacity to pursue a clever idea,
may change a public viewpoint or trend, or find him or
herself in a favorable circumstance, but hard work will be
required.
*The Seeker spontaneity grows in every dimension. 6
Doris Ann’s Tarot Handbook
On the dark side of the number 10, the Seeker may
deplete the benefits surrounding him or her. Possibly, a
Seeker may become unmerciful and stuck in his or her
inertia.
*The Seeker will find that ignoring the obvious will
ultimately backfire.
PENSIVE NUMBERS,
FIGHTING THE CLASH WITHIN:
13, 14, 16, AND 19
Pay close attention to these Higher Arcana pensive
numbers (sometimes called Karmic Numbers). The pensive
numbers are double-digit numbers that have a 1
(defining independence) and a partner number 3, 4, 6, or
9 (defining social interaction). These two digits repel each
other like magnets with the same polarity.
The pensive-number vibration intensity usually
remains dormant within an individual’s psyche until a
meaningful circumstance arises, then the essences of
both numbers simultaneously appear. Inevitably, each
number tries to separate its vitality from one another,
instead of working together to form a complete number.
When Seekers have pensive numbers in a spread, they
will have to strategize a particular situation and make
allowances before they belong.
HIGHER ARCANA PENSIVE NUMBERS
XIII, Death
The number 13 vibration is the most feared, downcast,
and misunderstood number in history. The cursed
number 13 has been traditionally implicated as a number
of hard luck and impending doom. The 1 alone represents
personal accomplishments and the number 3 represents
social optimism.
Antidote: By focusing on moral and ethical vibrations,
one may transform a chaotic incident into a spiritual
exploration.
*When Seekers support their fellowship, they—in
turn—support themselves. 7

NUMBERS CAN TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE
Have you ever questioned why you feel drawn to live your life within a certain manner? Do you often wonder why you feel close to some people and distant from others? The ancient science of Numerology deciphers the meaning behind your full certified name and your date-of birth numbers. By numbering your days, you too can unlock the door of your hidden self, tap into the mystery of prophecy, and relish the unknown possibilities waiting for you.
Best yet, the theory behind numerology is simple to grasp. There are no difficult formulas, or complicated terminologies to remember. All you have to do is add the numbers together until they collapse into a single digit.
Many numerologists believe that we reincarnate from lifetime to lifetime and that each number resonates a particular reward or fulfillment according to an individual’s karmic debt. For instance: The numbers 1 through 5 show that people are learning about their individual places on earth. The numbers 6 thorough 9 are at a higher frequency; they have a compassionate vibration. The master numbers 11 and 22 are the archetypes of the numbers 1 through 9; they show others the esoteric dimensions to life. The numbers 13, 14, 16, and 19 are frequently called Karmic numbers. They show where a person has to pay back his or her past debt.
I am not dismissing other numerologists’ beliefs. I consider the vibrations of the numbers 1 through 9 and the master numbers 11 and 22 different, yet essentially the same. And one number is not any more—nor any less—intellectually or spiritually advanced than another. Each numerical vibration is a path of experiences that empowers us to embrace a harmonic balance within ourselves, opening us to grace (God). And it is through this balance that we find the reverence connected to a given moment.
Furthermore, I do not feel that the life-path number, talents, abilities and adapting to outside influences holds the most important placement in a numerical profile. I am convinced the whole-name number, often called a personality and essence number, leads in the forefront. I make my conclusion on the fact that all decisions are made through one’s character and that is the only way one can uncover one’s truth. Let us begin by discovering the magic behind one’s name.
PERSONALITY
Your whole name, the essence of your character, sometimes called “expression” number—defines your characteristics and expresses how you choose to gather your strengths and weaknesses.
Follow the chart below. Print your full certified name (even if it was spelt wrong on your birth-certificate) then convert the letters to numbers. Add the numbers together until they reduce to a single digit, except for the master numbers 11 and 22.
After calculating you whole name to numbers, see general numerical behavior pattern vibrations. The sentence with the asterisk will help you broaden your character. Note the numbers missing from your name show you where there is a lack of perception. Throughout life you will need to exert an extra effort in order to find clarity under that particular vibration.
For example let’s suppose an individual has a missing number one. You feel doubtful. Your willpower withers in the face of pressure. This individual’s persona tends to allow others to take the lead or he or she tries to please others too readily. A cognitive effort on this individual’s part will help redefine the void attached to a number.

LIFE PATH NUMBER
The life-path number describes your talents, abilities, career options and how you may draw upon those specific skills. The life-path number is often called “birth path or “star of destiny” number.
Calculating the life path number is easy. All you have to do is add the total sum of your birth month, day and year together and collapse the total to a single digit. Do not reduce the master numbers 11 or 22. It is best to add the numbers vertically to avoid errors. The general numerical behavior pattern vibrations will show you how to enhance the strengths of goals. Enjoy the promise reflected in your birth numbers.

PERSONAL YEAR FORECAST
A personal year describes an individual’s exclusive trend. This potent timetable pinpoints one toward realization, success and how to prepare for the mysteries behind an up-coming trend. This exercise gives one the opportunity to see the influences connected his or her personal year.
The personal year is easy to calculate. Simply add your birth month, day and the current calendar year together. But before you calculate your personal year, you must understand when your personal year begins. For instance, generally, most numerologists calculate an individual’s personal year from the current calendar year starting January 1 through December 31.
I feel, however, that a personal year should be calculated from birthday to birthday—taking into account that it takes a full year to experience a personal-year vibration. For those individuals whose date-of-birth begins in January all you have to do is add your birth day, month and the current calendar year. Do not forget to reduce the total to a single digit, except for the master number 11 and 22.
Now the tricky part, the majority of individual’s date-of-birth lags behind a current calendar year, especially if a date-of-birth is toward the middle or end of the year. (Those individuals have yet to experience a full year.) For those individuals, add the birth month, day, and year from a previous birthday, and then reduce to a single digit.
Example Calendar Date: December 4, 2007 Add 12 + 04 + 2006 (Previous Year) = total 2023 Reduce 2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 7 Personal Year 7
Each the new personal-year trend shows you how to manifest a different view point. See the general behavior pattern explanation. They will give you the flavor connected to your personal year. The empower sentence will describe how to find yourself in a personal year. Enjoy your numerical story; in addition, share your story with a friend.
